Ayaat Reciter Programme — Terms of Participation

These Terms of Participation (the “Reciter Terms”) govern your involvement in the Ayaat Reciter Programme. They sit alongside, and do not replace, the general Ayaat Terms of Service and the Ayaat Privacy Policy. Where these Reciter Terms add reciter-specific obligations on top of the general Terms, both apply. Where they directly conflict, these Reciter Terms control for reciter-related activity only.

1. Eligibility

The Ayaat Reciter Programme is open to individuals and institutions whose recitation or representation of Quran content meets our published criteria. To participate you confirm that:

• Age and account holder. You are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must be the account holder, agree to these terms on your behalf, and remain responsible for your participation in the programme. If applying on behalf of an institution such as a masjid, the account holder is an adult duly authorised to act for that institution.
• Category fit. You apply under the correct category (reciter, hafiz / memoriser, public figure, or masjid representative) and your application materials accurately reflect your standing in that category.
• Authority over the content. You are the sole owner of the recitations you upload, or you are an administrator authorised in writing by the rights holder (for example, a masjid board authorising uploads of its imam's recordings).
• Good standing. You are not currently subject to a takedown, ban, or unresolved copyright dispute on Ayaat or, to your knowledge, on a comparable platform for Quran content.

2. Content Rights & Licence

You retain full ownership of every recitation you upload. Ayaat does not claim copyright in your recordings.

To run the platform we need a limited licence from you. By uploading content (or by connecting a YouTube channel and importing videos as audio), you grant Ayaat a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, transcode, cache, stream, distribute, and promote that content through the Ayaat apps and website, related delivery infrastructure (such as our CDN), and connected platforms you have explicitly opted into (for example, importing from your own YouTube channel).

This licence exists only to operate the Service. It does not let us sell your recordings, license them to third parties for paid distribution, or use them in advertising without your separate written consent. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to the wind-down period in Section 11.

You may remove any individual recording from Ayaat at any time from your dashboard. We will stop serving removed content from our origin promptly; cached copies on edge nodes may persist for a short propagation window.

3. Authenticity & Attribution

Verified status on Ayaat tells listeners that a recitation genuinely belongs to the reciter under whose name it appears. To preserve that trust:

• Only the verified reciter — or, for masjid accounts, an administrator duly authorised by the masjid — may upload recitations attributed to that reciter.
• You may not upload another reciter's recordings under your own profile, even if those recordings are publicly available elsewhere.
• You may not knowingly mislabel the reciter, qari, or source of any recording.
• Misattribution — whether deliberate or through reckless disregard — is grounds for content removal and revocation of verified status.

4. Permitted Content

The Reciter Programme is currently focused on Quran recitation and directly related material. Permitted content includes:

• Recitation of the Quran in any of the recognised qira'at and rewayat.
• Recognised Adhkar and du'a, where uploaded as part of your own recited collection.
• Brief spoken intros or outros (a ta'awwudh, basmalah, or short attribution / dedication). These should be incidental to the recitation, not the focus of the upload.

The following are not permitted on reciter accounts: music or musical accompaniment of any kind; advertising or promotional content for third parties; political content; and anything that could reasonably mislead a listener about the Quranic text, the qira'ah being recited, or the identity of the reciter.

Ayaat may, at its discretion, remove uploads that fall outside permitted content, with notice to you where practical.

5. Quality Standards

Verified uploads should meet a baseline of technical and editorial quality so listeners can rely on what they hear. You agree to use reasonable efforts to ensure that:

• Audio quality. Recordings are clear, free of significant background noise, clipping, or audible defects, and encoded at a reasonable bitrate.
• Verse boundaries. Tracks begin and end on coherent verse or surah boundaries — not mid-ayah — unless the upload is explicitly described as an excerpt.
• Rewayah disclosure. You disclose the rewayah (e.g. Hafs 'an 'Asim, Warsh 'an Nafi') accurately, especially for non-default rewayat that listeners might not expect.
• Metadata. Surah, ayah range, reciter name, and language fields are accurate. Cover art and titles do not misrepresent the content.

Repeated quality issues — particularly inaccurate metadata or undisclosed rewayah — may result in uploads being unpublished pending correction.

6. Public-Figure Conduct

A verified badge on Ayaat is, in part, an endorsement of trust. Conduct by verified reciters reflects on the platform and on the wider community of Quran reciters who participate.

You agree to maintain standards of public conduct consistent with the platform's mission of serving the Quran and its listeners. Public-facing controversies, credible allegations of misconduct, unresolved copyright disputes, or behaviour that materially undermines listener trust may trigger an internal review of your verified status.

A review is not a determination of wrongdoing. Where Ayaat opens a review we will, where reasonable, contact you for your side before any action is taken.

7. Verification & Revocation

Verified status is granted at Ayaat's discretion. Acceptance into the programme is not a permanent guarantee.

Ayaat may revoke verified status at any time if:

• You no longer meet the eligibility criteria in Section 1.
• Your uploaded content materially violates these terms or our general Terms of Service.
• Your conduct conflicts with the platform's values as described in Section 6.
• You are inactive on the platform for a sustained period after we have attempted to reach you, in which case we may de-verify your account while leaving your existing uploads in place.

You may request voluntary de-verification — to step away from the programme while keeping your account — at any time by emailing support@ayaatapp.com from your registered email address.

8. Copyright

You warrant that you own all rights in the recordings you upload, or that you have full written authorisation from every rights holder (for example, the original recording studio, broadcaster, or the reciter themselves where you act as administrator) to make the content available on Ayaat under the licence granted in Section 2.

You agree to indemnify and hold Ayaat harmless from any claim, loss, or expense arising out of a third-party allegation that content you uploaded infringes their intellectual property or related rights.

If we receive a credible copyright or related-rights complaint about content you uploaded, we may remove or disable access to that content while we investigate, and you agree to cooperate in good faith — including providing documentation of your rights on request. Accounts of repeat offenders may be terminated. To submit a copyright concern, email support@ayaatapp.com.

9. Analytics & Data

As a verified reciter you receive access, via your reciter dashboard, to analytics about your own content — for example aggregate plays, likes, listener counts, and geographic distribution at a country or region level.

These analytics are produced from listener interactions with the Service. Underlying listener data, the analytics derived from it, and the aggregated metrics surfaced in your dashboard are owned by Ayaat. You may use the metrics shown in your dashboard for your own informational and promotional purposes (for example, sharing milestones on social media) but you may not resell the data, attempt to re-identify individual listeners from it, or extract it in bulk through scraping.

Our handling of listener data is governed by the Ayaat Privacy Policy. Where these terms and the Privacy Policy address the same data, the Privacy Policy controls.

10. Compensation

The Reciter Programme is currently non-monetary. You do not receive payment for participation, and Ayaat does not charge you to participate.

Ayaat reserves the right to introduce monetisation features in the future — for example, listener tipping, paid masjid sponsorships, or revenue-share programmes. Any such monetisation will be governed by separate, opt-in terms. Participation in the base Reciter Programme will never automatically enrol you in a monetisation programme.

11. Termination

You may leave the Reciter Programme at any time by deleting your account or by emailing support@ayaatapp.com to request removal from the programme while keeping a regular listener account.

Ayaat may terminate or suspend your participation at any time for any reason, including the grounds described in Section 7. Where the termination is not in response to a serious or urgent violation, we will use reasonable efforts to give you advance notice.

On termination of your participation, your already-published recordings may remain available on the Service for a reasonable wind-down period — typically up to thirty days — so listeners and we can adjust. You may shorten this period by sending a written takedown request for specific tracks or for all of your content. Sections 2 (residual cache copies), 8 (copyright indemnity), and 9 (analytics ownership) survive termination.

12. Modifications

Ayaat may update these terms from time to time. The current version is identified by the version constant displayed at the top of this page.

For non-material changes (typo fixes, formatting, clarifications that do not change your obligations) we will simply update the page and the patch version. For material changes we will require you to re-accept the updated terms before you can continue using reciter-only features such as uploading new content. We will notify you in-app and, where we have a reliable contact email for you, by email.
